• Individualized curriculum consulting
  Yes, I can help you choose which books/materials you need!
   

• Customized teaching tips and educational strategies including how to incorporate:
   

  ABA (applied behavior analysis) and Discreet Trial Training (DTT) for step-by-step teaching of academics, self-help skills, and appropriate behavior.  RDI (relationship development intervention) for social and relationship skills Neuro-developmental therapy & cognitive skills training Verbal behavior & other conversational/pragmatic language therapy Reading therapy (sight words and/or phonics-based) Social skills training Behavioral plans for negative behaviors, teaching self-help skills, potty training, etc.

  I teach you how to implement these therapies yourself at home without paying a lot of money for professionals.

• HSLDA Quarterly Evaluations for families homeschooling a special needs child
  HSLDA recommends that families who are homeschooling children with special needs complete a quarterly evaluation of their child's educational progress.  As a Special Needs Educational Consultant, I complete HSLDA's quarterly evaluation form on behalf of my clients who have children on the autism spectrum or other special educational needs that I am qualified to address.  Visit HSLDA's website for more details regarding educational evaluations: http://www.hslda.org/hs/specialneeds/specialneeds1.asp
   

• Consulting available for children of all ages
  I usually only consult with families who have children in 7th grade or younger.   However, if you have a child who is older but who still hasn't progressed academically past a 7th grade level, I am happy to consult with you as well.  That is the beauty of home schooling.  It's all about helping your child make the desired academic progress by starting where they are, not where they should be.  Age/grade is not a consideration if you are interested in having me help you implement a home-based ABA-type program for your child with autism.
   

• Not home schooling?  No problem.
  I also assist families who may not be ready to home school, but would like recommendations for supplemental materials or teaching strategies that can help their child become a more successful student.
