Soil Building & Rainwater Harvesting Workshop

Earthroots instructors gave a FREE Soil Building & Rainwater Harvesting workshop at Tustin Memorial Academy as part two of a three part series offered on campus. What a success! We calculated roof catchment potential and gave participants practical advice for embarking on rainwater harvesting at their residences.

This first workshop demonstrated how to create living “sponges” of biologically rich soil to hold water. This water harvesting workshop showed techniques to capture and infiltrate more rainwater in your yard while improving soil quality for a more productive garden. Tustin Memorial Academy Garden is used daily as an education center and working school garden. Participants at these workshops will have an opportunity to tour TMA’s garden.
