Family Walkabout - Monthly Outings for the Whole Family at Local Wilderness Parks
All ages welcome, newborns to grandparents!
Saturday 9am to 12noon
$20 per family
This series of adventures is geared for families with children of all ages. We will explore wilderness areas, learn to identify medicinal, edible and poisonous plants, attune to the trails and tracks of animals and explore our connection with our local environment. Aunties and uncles and grandparents are welcome also!
We call this a walkabout… they are slow exploratory walks geared to the interests of the kids and to getting tuned in to what is all around us… to hearing each others stories and the stories of the land we live in.
The most we walk is about 1.5 miles total, but I promise you that you will see things you have never seen, and learn a few new things about our local ecology.
